URC Announces “Screw-in Simple” LED Wireless Lighting

urc-lighting-0914URC today announced URC LED Lighting, a ZigBee based wireless lighting control system that the company says is so easy to install that no high voltage experience is required. These new, affordable products are installed as part of a Total Control or ccGEN2 whole-house home automation project.

The initial URC LED Lighting products include an A19 standard lamp bulb, a BR30 “high hat” lamp bulb and the TRF-GT1, a ZigBee controller that can sit anywhere on a network. The new URC LED Lighting lineup is being announced simultaneously with URC’s also new Vivido two-way designer RF lighting solutions.

A few key features of URC LED Lighting include dimming capability when installed as part of a Total Control or ccGEN2 installation, user-adjustable lighting scenes and status feedback of availability on a smartphone, tablet or any URC interface. Bulbs can be “grouped” so that up to 4 lamps can be dimmed Up and Down, and sent On and Off commands as if they are one single bulb. The new URC LED light bulbs save energy and are expected to last longer than 20 years based upon normal usage.

Here are the specs.
