Google Nest Hub Is America’s Most Searched For Smart Home Product

A new study has revealed that Google Nest Hubs are the most searched-for smart home product line in America, with an average of 137,520 searches per month.

Home and tech experts Smarthomestarter.com used Google data to analyze searches for various smart home related keywords to determine which smart device product lines were searched for the most.

1. Google Nest Hubs

Google Nest Hubs take the top spot for America’s most searched-for smart home product lines, with an average of 137,520 searches per month. The Nest Hubs are Google’s smart display offering; they allow users to connect their other smart devices to the hub for centralized control, which is especially useful when it is compatible with hundreds of other smart devices on the market. With Google Assistant built-in, it can help with organization, reminders and smart home automation — as well as provide entertainment with music and video.

2. Philips Hue

Philips Hue smart lighting comes second for America’s most searched-for smart home product lines, with an average of 133,920 per month. Phillips Hue lighting is also the most popular smart lighting brand by search volume in America. The bulbs are designed to be compatible with most existing light fixtures, allowing them to become smart light fixtures. Available in numerous styles, they allow unparalleled control over how users light their homes using their phones or other compatible devices.

3. Honeywell Home Thermostats

Honeywell Home Thermostats come third for the most searched-for smart home product lines in America, with an average of 84,120 searches per month. The most popular brand of smart thermostats in America by search volume, they allow great control over the comfort level of a home’s heating. They can also provide cost savings through saving on heating bills through their increased scope for energy efficiency.

4. Lutron Smart Switches

With an average of 37,810 searches per month, Lutron Smart Switches are fourth on the list of the most searched-for smart home product lines in America. Lutron’s main smart switch brand is their Caséta line, providing smart lighting capability with non-smart bulbs. This is down to the light switch providing the control instead, which can provide large cost savings due to not needing to buy smart bulbs to replace all the old ones.

5. Nanoleaf Lighting

Nanoleaf Lighting is fifth for the most searched-for smart home product lines in America, with an average of 35,540 searches per month. Nanoleaf offers a range of customizable light fixtures that come in a range of shapes and finishes. The color of the lights and the animations displayed on them can be customized by the user to their preferences.

6. Apple HomePod

With an average of 28,010 searches per month, the Apple HomePod is sixth among the most searched-for smart home product lines in America. The HomePod is Apple’s smart speaker offering and is a control hub for smart home functionality through Apple’s HomeKit software. Through Siri, various smart home automation preferences are possible, plus the HomePod doubles as a powerful speaker for entertainment purposes.

7. myQ Chamberlain Smart Garage Control

The myQ Chamberlain Smart Garage Control is seventh for the most searched-for smart home product lines in America, with an average of 26,260 searches per month. myQ’s Chamberlain Smart Garage Control allows for remote monitoring and control of garage doors and lighting. Connected smart devices can notify users about and control their garage door’s status. It can also allow certain functions to be automated.

8. Google Nest x Yale Lock

Despite support for it being discontinued on April 8, 2024, the Google Nest x Yale Lock comes eighth for the most searched-for smart home product lines in America, with an average of 17,460 searches per month. The Nest x Yale Lock is a keypad with no physical key and provides remote control for home access and automation for guest access. Google is discontinuing this product due to its partnership with ADT and has provided subsidies for existing users to switch to their new product lines.

9. Kasa Smart Plugs

With an average of 14,670 searches per month, Kasa Smart Plugs come ninth for America’s most searched-for smart home product lines. Kasa Smart Plugs allow for remote control of appliances from connected smart devices, as well as integration with Google Assistant or Alexa. They can also be programmed to turn appliances on and off at scheduled times automatically.

10. Geeni Cameras

Rounding out the Top 10 is Geeni Cameras, with an average of 14,150 searches per month. Geeni offers a variety of powerful cameras for home monitoring which can stream to connected smart devices through wi-fi, all without a smart hub being necessary.
