Audinate Acquires Iris Studios to Expand AI Remote Production Capabilities
Audinate, the developer of the Dante AV-over-IP media platform, has announced its agreement to acquire Iris Studios, a U.S.-based company specializing in AI-driven, cloud-based camera control technology.
Iris offers a brand-agnostic, cloud-first video production platform that allows users to manage PTZ cameras remotely. Its feature set includes AI-powered auto tracking, real-time color correction and cloud recording — all from a single web-based interface. The platform is also applicable to a broader range of AV products, including encoders, decoders and vision mixers.
This acquisition enhances Audinate’s video portfolio and advances its goal of providing unified control and management across the AV ecosystem. With Iris, OEMs can embed native cloud-based control into their devices, enabling real-time access and management without requiring additional hardware. Iris currently supports cameras from 14 manufacturers, including Lumens, PTZOptics, Marshall, BirdDog, Telycam and AIDA.
Iris launched as a white-label service earlier this year and is expected to go public in the second half of 2025. The Iris team will join Audinate upon the close of the transaction and will collaborate on expanding the platform and integrating it into the Dante ecosystem.
The acquisition is expected to provide new functionality for Dante users across markets including corporate, broadcast, education, entertainment, government and houses of worship — where remote PTZ control, AI automation and cloud-based workflows continue to gain traction.
