“Over the past decade, we’ve seen balanced twisted-pair copper cabling become a clear choice for connecting AV equipment and end devices, but many of these systems have not been true IP-based or operating at data rates that stress the cabling infrastructure,” says Carl Siemon, president and CEO of Siemon. “As a global manufacturer of low-voltage copper and fiber cabling solutions, we understand that high performance cables and connectors will play an important role in ensuring headache-free SDVoE operation. As a leading advocate for interoperable and converged IP-based infrastructure, Siemon is pleased to join the SDVoE Alliance as we see significant opportunities to educate integrators about cabling infrastructure choices that will enable SDVoE equipment and devices to deliver cost and space savings, improved reliability, and the bandwidth needed to handle the world’s ever-increasing amount of ultra-high-definition video.”

“The mission of the SDVoE Alliance is to provide the solid, stable, reliable and cost-effective platform that can truly transform the matrix, and high performance, standardized Ethernet infrastructure is a vital part of that,” said Justin Kennington, president of the SDVoE Alliance. “We look forward to this important collaboration with Siemon as the newest alliance member and we welcome their participation in our education initiatives as the industry gathers in Orlando.”

SDVoE 20/20 presentations will start on the hour and half hour throughout all three days of the show. A full schedule of all sessions can be obtained in the SDVoE Alliance booth 1143. Pre-registration for the sessions and prize drawings is available on the SDVoE Alliance website here.

All AV distribution and processing applications that demand zero-latency and uncompromised video can benefit from SDVoE technology, which provides an end-to-end hardware and software platform for AV extension, switching, processing and control through advanced chipset technology, common control APIs and interoperability. SDVoE network architectures are based on off-the-shelf Ethernet switches, thus offering substantial cost savings and greater system flexibility and scalability over traditional approaches, such as point-to-point extension and circuit-based AV matrix switching.
