THE rAVe Agency has been busy planning and preparing tons of new LAVNCH & LEARNs and events. These events are educational and informative to help out both the new and experienced AV pros in our industry. From educational sessions on the newest tech to encouraging series on getting hired, we’ve got something for everyone. Let’s take a look at some recent events and also discuss some upcoming sessions to put on your calendar.
What’s Up With LAVNCH: What’s Coming Up
ICYMI: THE rAVe Agency’s LAVNCH platform is now hosting SDVoE LIVE! episodes. In this next episode, SDVoE‘s Justin Kennington and Matt Dodd will be joined by guest Pete ‘TEC MAN’ Coman to discuss the convergence of AV and IT. On the surface, building separate networks for AV and IT may seem like an easy choice. End users see risk in adding AV functionality to their IT network while AV integrators are fearful of interacting with the client’s IT network.
Pete says keeping AV and IT separate is ultimately holding back the AV industry by enabling products that don’t meet modern infosec requirements. He also claims we should be focusing on building products that IT will welcome onto their network. Is this a world that we as an industry are prepared to embrace? Or are we too stuck in our proprietary old ways?
Find out the details on Tuesday, Jan. 11 at 1 p.m. EST. You can register for SDVoE’s “AV/IT Convergence: A Ghost in the Machine” event right here.
Content Creation and Digital Signage
Content has and always will be king when it comes to digital signage. Whether it’s showing critical info like COVID-19 policies or something that “wows” your customers, content is the key to the success of digital signage. In event 4 of the DS series, Megan A. Dutta will be joined by Bryan Meszaros, Stephanie Gutnik and Kathy Fry to discuss many of the key components of content creation. These topics will include working with the right design firm, how to create a content plan with your client, the latest content creation trends, how to evaluate the environment for optimal content and much more!
Don’t forget to register for the “Content Creation and Digital Signage” LAVNCH & LEARN on Wednesday, Jan. 19 at 1 p.m. EST. You can register for the event here.

XR In The Classroom
Extended Reality (XR) has made its way into many areas of our daily lives, and that includes the classroom. It can virtually transport students sitting in a school to a museum halfway around the world where they can explore priceless works of art, or it can simply create an active and fun learning experience that engages multiple senses. What do we know? The possibilities for XR are virtually endless — see what we did there?
Join Megan A. Dutta and Steven T. King, Jr. to find out more about XR in this application. What are the pros and cons for students using XR and how can AV professionals capitalize on the growing XR in the education market? Make sure to register for the “XR in the Classroom” LAVNCH & LEARN to find out! This event will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 25 at 2 p.m. EST. Register to save your spot here.
We’d like to thank PLANAR for sponsoring this LAVNCH & LEARN.
What’s Up With LAVNCH: What happened
Part 4 of the Girl Boss Series of LAVNCH & LEARNs* focused on tools to help you overcome imposter syndrome. We’ve all faced days where we feel underqualified and overwhelmed at the office, but Megan A. Dutta, Sarah J. Bohnenkamp, Maile Keone and Karyn Schoenbart outlined tools you need to overcome these feelings. If you weren’t able to join them for the first Girl Boss event of 2022, make sure you register to watch this event on demand!
“More times than not, people succeed; they don’t fail,” said Karyn Schoenbart, CEO of The NPD Group, during the event. “And if you fail, fail forward.”
Don’t miss the opportunity to learn how to become the best girl boss you can be, make the most of your failures and be “anti-average” during this event. You can register to watch the “Overcoming Imposter Syndrome” LAVNCH & LEARN right here. We’d like to thank AtlasIED for sponsoring these events.
*We view using the term “Girl Boss” as taking our power back and owning it — not as something that’s demeaning to the confident, strong and smart women in tech that are a part of our industry. If you would like to have an open dialogue about this, please reach out to Megan A. Dutta at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Well, those are all our most recent and upcoming virtual events! We’ll catch you next time to keep you updated on all things LAVNCH.
