A Roundup of Zoomtopia’s “From the Lobby to the Boardroom”
From the Lobby to the Boardroom: Maximizing Your In-Person Experiences with Zoom Spaces
This year’s Zoomtopia was filled with innovations and demonstrations surrounding Zoom Workplace. The panel titled “From the Lobby to the Boardroom: Maximizing Your In-Person Experiences with Zoom Spaces” focused on what companies are doing to remain flexible to different workplace models, as they continue to evolve. In the panel, leaders discussed how their companies are trying to reshape the future of in-person office experiences. This discussion included solutions that optimize time in the office and support both remote and on-site workers, and how Zoom Spaces specifically, is helping companies create welcoming environments that focus on collaboration, inclusion, and productivity.
The panelists from Zoom at this event included Jeff Smith, head of product for Workplace AI, Meetings, and Spaces, Andy Carluccio, head of client innovation, Izabella Lorenz, in charge of global real estate and workplace strategy, Carleigh Noble, senior product manager, Patrick Kelley, distinguished architect, and Angela Donohue, product marketing leader.
Smith talked about the importance of making office visits engaging for employees. “When employees come to the office, it needs to be valuable,” he said. Zoom aims to promote collaboration in the workplace, which not only creates a more productive environment but also increases employee engagement. “The future of work is hybrid, flexible, and dynamic,” said Smith. With features like smart name tags and speaker identification powered by AI, new technology will continue to improve and create even better work environments.
According to Carluccio, remote participants can see all parts of the room simultaneously, which makes it easier to engage with everyone who is in attendance both in person and online. He also pointed out that Zoom Rooms can now provide full-HD quality streams, whether in lecture halls or corporate broadcast studios.
We also received a tour of Zoom’s London Experience Center, which is an office space designed to showcase Zoom’s solutions to challenges faced by businesses nowadays. “We created this center with customers in mind,” Lorenz said. Customers can engage with tools like smart name tags, which automatically apply AI-generated tags to meeting participants, and smart speaker tags, which use AI to identify speakers and integrate that information into transcripts and summaries. They can also experiment with new features like easier meeting room reservations, improved visitor management through virtual kiosks, and notifications for guest arrivals.
