Five of the Coolest Kiosks: From Entertainment to Instant Food to Car Charging
Though kiosks have been around since the late 1970s, the kiosks of today are a far cry from those of yesterday. From interactive voice and touch to offering food, tickets, and so much more, we’re nearing a Jetsons-like reality more than I ever thought possible.
From providing necessary and pertinent information to plain old-fashioned fun, here are the kiosks that certainly piqued my interest.
McDonalds Customization Kiosk
McDonalds is moving on up! A brand-new McDonalds opened recently in Missouri, featuring unique and interactive solutions. My favorite? This kiosk, of course. You can customize and tweak your meal with interactive touch, and there are even specialty toppings: guacamole, pico de gallo, maple bacon, creamy dijon, sriracha mayonnaise, and grilled tomato. Now that’s my kind of kiosk.
The Cupcake Kiosk
Fast-food not your thing? What about sweets? This interactive kiosk disperses cupcakes. Sprinkles’ cupcake ATMs are located in Walt Disney World and 19 other locations.
CPR Training Kiosk
According to news site Chicago Inno, “Nearly 77 million passengers passed through O’Hare in 2015. And every year, 59,000 cardiac arrests occur outside of the hospital.” O’Hare’s coolest kiosk has been installed for the greater good: to teach CPR through interactive kiosks with how-to videos, a practice manikin, and more.
Homerun Derby Kiosk
Get ready to show off your batting skills at Citi Field! Home to the New York Mets, the stadium recently added a large, interactive kiosk display were visitors can enjoy a digital home run hitting contest.
Car Charging Kiosk
Kiosks are continually part of our travels, from providing schedules to ticketing and more. Now, they help you travel farther: by charging your car! The future truly is now.
If you could create the custom kiosk of your dreams, what would it do?
