Roland’s Professional A/V Division just updated the SR-20HD Direct Streaming AV Mixer, an enterprise-based streaming solution for adding a full audio mix to any production and encode for livestreaming without a dedicated PC. The latest version 1.20 firmware update brings improved streaming visual quality, backward/forward video preview dialog, additional tools for setting up detailed video playback and more.

The SR-20HD combines an audio mixer, preview screen, recorder/player, streaming encoder and two HDMI inputs in one unit, simplifying the process. Presenters can stream directly to various online platforms or by RTMP to a CDN without needing a computer, removing the risk of malware and other issues arising from computer-based streaming on enterprise networks.

The SR-20HD has automatic functions that run in the background to eliminate dropped streams and help protect organizations from broadcasting inappropriate content. Adaptive Bitrate monitors the network connection and automatically adjusts the streaming rate to reduce interruptions from bandwidth issues. The Safety Delay buffers up to 60 seconds of video and audio, allowing users to switch to a still image or mute the sound if anything goes wrong.

The Roland SR-20HD Direct Streaming AV Mixer is available in the US for $995.
