Christie projection and content management solutions are at the heart of a new large-scale immersive experience at Xpark Aquarium in Taipei. The exhibition, “Xpark meets NAKED – Ocean of Light: Immersive Ocean,” officially opened June 28 to celebrate Xpark’s fifth anniversary and marks the venue’s most ambitious digital installation to date.

Created by Japan’s renowned creative studio NAKED, INC., the installation blends real marine life with interactive digital art from the “NAKED OCEAN” series, transforming the aquarium into a vivid underwater world where visuals, sound and motion converge.

The project was brought to life by Christie’s longtime partner Dacoms Technology, which handled projection design and system integration. The setup includes 15 Christie 1DLP® laser projectors — featuring Inspire Series DWU960ST-iS models with short throw zoom lenses, GS Series DWU880-GS projectors — and six Pandoras Box® Servers for real-time playback and content processing.

“Christie’s projection and content management solutions are once again the top choice for this project — not just because of their visual performance, but also for their dependability in challenging environments,” said Terence Lee, executive vice president at Dacoms Technology. “Xpark has used Christie solutions since its opening in 2020 and has always been impressed with their consistency.”

The projection mapping system immerses visitors in dynamic ocean environments, covering curved walls and floors with lifelike, responsive visuals. This is the second collaboration between Xpark and NAKED, INC., following their successful January 2025 launch of “Sea of Light Jellyfish.” The new experience expands on that concept, with nearly 70% of indoor zones revamped using digital installations.

“We’re thrilled to see our technologies once again at the heart of such a forward-thinking exhibition,” said Jason Yeo, senior sales manager for Southeast Asia and Taiwan at Christie. “This partnership pushes the boundaries of digital storytelling and environmental awareness.”

More than a visual showcase, “Ocean of Light: Immersive Ocean” is designed as edutainment — using light, sound and interactivity to promote ocean awareness, conservation and sensory learning for all ages. According to Lee, “It redefines what an aquarium experience can be.”
