NEC continues its focus on education with the introduction of the VT700. This new projector, shown at InfoComm, is specified at 3000 lumens and XGA resolution and has wall color correction so that users can project on whiteboards, blackboards and other colored walls.

It also has automatic vertical keystone correction, DVI-I input and five watt speaker. It ships in August and pricing is TBA.

NEC also introduced its first Vista-compatible network projectors. The NP1150, NP2150 and NP3150, targeted to large corporations, higher education and government applications, allow users to use the “Connect to a Network Projector” wizard in Windows Vista.

The Network Projector function within Windows Vista connects directly to networked projectors without the need for additional proprietary software. Remote Desktop Connection allows the NEC projector to connect to a networked computer remotely. Controlling a networked computer is done by connecting a USB mouse and keyboard directly to the projector’s USB input.

The NP1150, NP2150 and NP3150 use Silicon Optix HQV processing and range in brightness from 3,500, 4,000 and 5,000 lumens. They have vertical and horizontal lens shift. They’ll ship later this year with pricing TBA.
