Custom Channels Acquired Ahead of InfoComm 2025 Product Launch
Custom Channels, a business music streaming provider founded in 2000, has been acquired by tech entrepreneur Joe Comer and longtime operations leader Kurt Oleson.
The sale by co-founders John Bradley and Dave Rahn comes as the company prepares to launch a new offering at InfoComm 2025 — a no-code music solution designed for digital signage integrators and content management providers.
“We’re honored to build upon the 25 year foundation of success created by John Bradley and Dave Rahn with the introduction of the first Custom Channels solution for AV integrators at InfoComm 2025,” said Comer, who now serves as CEO.
According to Comer, increased scrutiny around unlicensed music use by businesses has created a new opportunity. “We believe the market demand for the services Custom Channels offers will grow exponentially as a result because businesses want a turnkey solution that manages every aspect of the service,” he said.
The new platform will allow Custom Channels’ partners to offer licensed background music without requiring hardware or development work. “It will be what this industry has been waiting for — an easy way to add music, generate new revenue, and stay fully compliant,” said Mark Willett, head of partnerships. “No code, no hardware, no limits.”
Custom Channels provides music services and licensing for U.S. and Canadian businesses, with offerings ranging from curated playlists to fully custom soundtracks. The company emphasizes larger playlists, minimal repetition and brand-specific curation.
“In essence, we fill a specific and growing market need by offering a legally compliant music streaming solution for businesses that is far more customized and comprehensive than consumer-focused platforms,” Comer said.
