Behind the Stand at ISE 2025: An Interview With Symetrix’s Quinn Klarer
THIS IS A PROMOTED POST
Welcome to this series highlighting some of the manufacturers and brands that will be featured on the show floor at ISE 2025. As we gear up for the event, we wanted to share a preview of what these companies are bringing to the table — from new products to insights about their focus for the show. These conversations offer a closer look at what you can expect and a chance to get to know the people behind the brands before the doors open in Barcelona. This interview is with Symetrix’s Quinn Klarer, product manager.
Q: Why is Symetrix exhibiting at ISE this year?
A: ISE is the world’s leading show for professional audiovisual integration and the range of Symetrix solutions aligns very well within the ISE umbrella. Symetrix has been an innovator in this space for five decades with a mission of making networked audio-visual experiences a reality through the adoption of IP infrastructure, superior quality digital signal processors and high-performance endpoints, along with powerful design, configuration, and control software.
Each year Symetrix exhibits at ISE showcasing the latest in audiovisual technology. This year offers a new opportunity for unveiling to a global audience the latest innovations in IP based digital signal processors, endpoints, and management software that enables comprehensive ecosystems.
Beyond bringing the newest media technology to Europe, being a US-based company, ISE is a critical event in sustaining connections with so many valued international partners. From in-house media technology specialists to audio visual integrators, and of course international distribution partners, the opportunity to connect face-to-face is invaluable.
Q: What trends do you think we’ll see on the show floor, and how is your company positioned to capitalize on these opportunities?
A: A significant trend we’re likely to see is more manufacturers developing and publicly releasing their own third-party control APIs. This is a game-changer for system programmers who previously had to navigate various channels to access an API. Manufacturers are realizing that the more open and integration-friendly their products are, the more versatile and appealing they become.
With these open APIs comes an expectation of a growing focus on secure network communication between devices. While programming control systems with UDP can be simple and fun, more security-conscious integrations will benefit from third-party control APIs that rely on encrypted communication and stricter authentication methods. This shift ensures better protection and reliability in modern AV systems.
Symetrix has long prioritized partnerships with companies that embrace third-party integration and will continue to seek out long-lasting collaborations with other manufacturers. These relationships consistently benefit everyone involved—manufacturers, consultants, integrators, programmers, and end users.
Q: What new products or solutions are you showcasing at ISE, and how do they address current industry challenges?
A: At ISE 2025, Symetrix will be showcasing two systems that address the flexibility of audio and video over IP: the D100 DSP Server and the xIO USB endpoint connector.
The D100 DSP Server is a powerful server-based digital signal processor designed to meet the increasing demand for scalable audio-video-control systems in large-scale applications. D100 provides centralized control, monitoring, and processing with large channel counts for Dante, AEC, and audio playback. The D100 addresses the challenge of managing large media environments by combining superior sound quality and performance with Symetrix’s Composer management software, ensuring integrators and programmers can easily design, deploy, and expand systems.
The xIO USB endpoint connector functions as a Dante-to-USB audio bridge. The IP endpoint blends an easy plug-and-play experience for connecting user computers with the performance of professional, high-quality audio. With native Dante compatibility, xIO USB removes the complexities of connecting devices with USB audio to networked audio systems. xIO is an ideal solution for hybrid workspaces, educational institutions, and conference rooms where reliable, user-friendly USB connectivity is essential.
Q: How is your company expanding its global presence besides exhibiting at ISE 2025?
A: Symetrix has had a global presence for decades. However, we are always working on creating better knowledge, structures, and support systems for empowering our international partners. In the last year we have added direct staff in the EMEA region including a business development manager and field application engineer. We have also added a new distribution partner in the Middle East, GSL Professional. With the support of our distribution partners, we are participating in more regional and national events across Europe & Asia, as well as providing new in-person training opportunities in 2025.
Q: Why should ISE 2025 attendees visit your booth?
A: At Symetrix, we value relationships, and we value everyone that visits our booth. Attendees who visit our booth will surely leave understanding our latest innovations and offerings and how we can help them be successful with their audio-visual opportunities, but further, they will leave feeling welcomed, caffeinated (we serve coffee!), and like they have a new personal connection in the industry. A personalized experience in our stand is very important to us.
Q: Anything else you’d like to add?
A: Come say hello to the #SymFamily! We would love to meet you and learn how we can support you in your upcoming projects. We have a great lineup of media environment solutions and a knowledgeable team who are ready to take action.
