Preparing for ISE 2023: Three-Week Check-In

ise 2023 show floor

Hello #AVtweeps, if you’re reading this, it likely means that you are considering or attending ISE 2023 in Barcelona. I’m sure for many of you, it’s your first time at this location, and I can assure you, it’s going to be great. Here are some tips and things to go ahead and get started on before you make the trip to Spain! This will be a short series where I add a few more things each week, as to not overwhelm you all (or myself) with the number of things to do.

As always, you can reach out to me with any other tips and tricks you all have.

  • Book your flight if you haven’t already done so! Luckily, there are some great deals to Barcelona right now, so make sure to get on trusty Google Flights and start pricing some options.
  • Get a hotel. This is a little trickier than booking a flight because the convention center, the Fira, is not close to a ton of hotels. And the ones that are close tend to fill up quickly. Luckily, your ISE show floor pass gets you a public transit ticket for the days of the show, so it’s imperative to look along the transit lines to find a hotel that isn’t very far away. It’s also useful to do research into different neighborhoods, so you make sure you’re staying somewhere with an atmosphere that you like! ISE also gets some special deals on a few local hotels, and you can check those out here. Be careful, though! If you’re a points person, you may not be able to get hotel points from a hotel booked via Bnetwork.
  • Check to make sure there are no health/COVID-19 regulations in Spain! Last year, there were some tricky rules we had to follow to make sure that we were compliant to get into the country. This year, there don’t seem to be many restrictions, but I am always checking the Embassy site. For instance, this year, you do not have to provide a vaccine card before boarding the flight to Spain, but you do have to wear a mask on the flight and back. These are useful things to start keeping in mind now!

That’s it for now. What have you done so far to prepare for the trip to Barcelona? Let me know!

P.S. If you STILL haven’t gotten your show floor pass to ISE, you can do so and use our code, “raveeurope,” for free entry!
