National Mom & Pop Business Owners Day

MOMPOP

March 29th is National Mom & Pop Business Owners Day! It is a day to celebrate and support the hard working small business owners out there, their business accomplishments, and the positive impact they have on not only their local communities, but the entire economy too.

In fact, according to the U.S. Small Business Administration, there are more than 28 million small businesses (500 employees or less), with an additional 3.6 million enterprises having four or fewer workers. To put those numbers into perspective, there are only about 17,700 firms with 500 employees or more in the United States, according to the U.S Census Bureau.

This year, we decided to show our appreciation to Mom & Pop businesses and raise awareness of the special day because we, too, began as a small business back in 1941. It all started in the basement of a home, producing small parts for Motorola and the war effort. A few years later, we moved to a larger facility and hired two returning veterans, who were later able to buy the company from its founder in 1956. Without the support from the community and the hard work and devotion from the business starters, our company would not be the leading designer, manufacturer, and distributor of audiovisual solutions that we are today.

All too often, small businesses are not given enough credit for the vital role they play in the United States. Mom and Pop Shops, we understand all the hard work, long hours, and dedication it takes to run a small business and nurture the growth of the business, all while striving to reach the main goal of business success. And we know it isn’t easy!  We hope you get all the support you deserve on your holiday and we wish you a prosperous year!

Go out and support your local Mom and Pop shops on Sunday, March 29th!
