MSE Audio has announced the 70-volt-based RS1201i-SuperT subwoofer from SoundTube.

SoundTube’s RS1201i SuperT, available in black and white, is designed for use in an open ceiling or can be surface-mounted into the ceiling to produce low frequencies to the surrounding listening area. The RS1201i SuperT uses a 70/100v technology that the company claims is devoid of the losses in sensitivity and low-end frequency response due to typical transformer behavior. The 12-inch SuperT is perfect for use in any installation where the music is louder than typical background music, and additional bass is needed, such as bars, nightclubs, retail and hotels with sizeable open ceiling areas.

Using a 12-inch treated fiber cone woofer with a treated cloth surround in a tuned and ported enclosure, it provides an independently verified 32Hz-100Hz ± 10 dB low-frequency response. Mounting hardware includes high-quality UL listed cables and integrated SpeedClamp self-locking wire clamp for fast, easy and secure installation.
