Hall Research Releases New Kit for Sending 4K Video Over a UTP Cable

Hallresearch EX4KU
Hall Research has launched the EX-4KU kit, including a single-gang wall plate HDBaseT transmitter plus receiver. Designed to extend 4K HDMI video and USB data over a single UTP cable, the EX-4KU uses the new HDBaseT 2.0 technology that claims to extend video and USB with zero latency and with no compression.

The wall plate transmitter provides an HDMI input with a USB port for connection to a PC or a Mac, and it supports all PC and HDTV resolutions up to and including 4K UHD (3840×2160). The wall plate also provides two USB charging ports, and the extender supports all USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 devices such as keyboards, mice, touch screens, interactive whiteboards and USB cameras.

A single Cat6 cable connects the transmitter to the receiver and the system supports distances of up to 130 feet (40 meters) for 4K video or 230 feet (70 meters) for 1080p video. Full duplex RS232 is also extended and power is sent from the receiver to the wall plate through the same Cat6 cable.

The EX-4KU HDBaseT Wall Plate Extender is designed for both commercial AV and educational (K-12) installations.
