VIZIO Ships 2.35:1 3D HDTV
VIZIO just started shipping its new XVT Series Cinemawide LED (edge-lit) LCD TV, the first 21:9 consumer 58″ TV available.
The 21:9 Cinemawide screen is wider than the standard 16:9 screen found on most HDTVs, allowing it to fit the 2.35:1 aspect ratio used for many Hollywood films. Consumers watching movies will no longer have to see black bars at the top and bottom of the screen. The2560x1080p native resolution screen (edge lit) includes VIZIO’s Smart Dimming picture control and integration of SRS StudioSound HD, plus ships with four pairs of passive 3D glasses. One cool feature is that while watching normal 16:9 shows, users can view full-resolution 16:9 HDTV on the right side of the screen while accessing VIZIO Internet apps in a column on the left side of the screen. This allows viewers to check scores, catch up on news, or post a Tweet — all while watching TV.
The VIZIO 58-inch Cinemawide LED Smart TV with Theater 3D (model XVT3D580CM) lists for $2,799. Here are all the specs: http://www.vizio.com/cinemawide/overview
