Pointmaker Debuts PVI-500 Videoconferencing Translation System

pvi-500_diagrams_web-0616Debuting at InfoComm16 is the Pointmaker PVI-500 videoconference translation system, which integrates with a Cisco TelePresence System and SMART KappIQ interactive display. In this installation, the Pointmaker translates touch coordinates between the Cisco codec and SMART display; so that when users change the layout on the display, they still retain touch functionality. Otherwise, translation and function is lost on any layout other than full screen mode.

According to Pointmaker Executive Vice President Jennifer Marshall, losing the translation between the codec and touch display with certain layouts has long been the bane of videoconference users. “With the advent of huddle rooms, the PVI-500 allows any of your Cisco TelePresence investments to become more collaborative,” she says.

The Pointmaker PVI-500 will also be available to other customers, and in the future, will incorporate its legendary annotation features. Here are the details.
