New InFocus Projectors Designed for Large Venues

InFocus’ new DLP projector is the IN5550, which is aimed at larger venues. Specified at 8,300 lumens, this is the brightest projector InFocus has ever offered. The company isn’t really known as an install projector provider — in fact, InFocus is known to have bought and destroyed an install-brand: Proxima.

5500series_topfaceleft_0-0213The IN5550 offers two lamps, motorized lens shift and 360-degree projection and image blending, which lets users project separate images from multiple projectors, creating one stunning seamless image. The projectors also come with two easily replaceable color wheels. The “Presentation” color wheel delivers rich colors with high brightness and the “Cinema Correct” color wheel provides precise RGB and CMYK color control.

Inputs includes VGA, 3G-SDI, HDMI 1.4, DVI-D, five BNC (RGBHV, YpbPr), as well as RS232 and Ethernet control. It also offers a wired remote, which allows users to run a small cable up to 100 feet and plug directly into the remote control that ships with the unit. The IN5550 Series offers six interchangeable lenses ranging from short throw to ultra-long throw. These bayonet-style lenses can be switched with the touch of a button and adjusted with motorized lens shift to precisely position your image. When the preferred position is achieved, it can be saved in one of 10 memory locations.

The IN5550 Series comes in three models: the IN5552L, IN5554L and IN5555L, which feature native resolutions of XGA, WXGA and WUXGA, respectively. Here are all the specs: http://www.infocus.com/projectors/large-venue-projectors/infocus-in5550-projector-series
