Microsoft Copilot Roundup: August 2024
Welcome to this month’s Copilot for Microsoft 365 roundup! This month’s updates range from implementation in forms and quizzes to new prompt collections in sales and new languages added, so buckle up. I will include the full list of updates at the end of this article via slides in case you’re curious.
Improvements in Language Support
Great news! Copilot will now be offering 11 newly supported languages: Bulgarian, Croatian, Estonian, Greek, Indonesian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Romanian, Serbian (Latin), Welsh and Catalan. They will also be improving specific language variants: Dutch (Belgium), German (Switzerland), English (U.K.), Spanish (Mexico) and French (Canada). These updates mean that Copilot will be better in dealing with colloquialisms and expressions specific to these countries’ dialects.
Ability to Review Survey Data on Copilot Dashboard
Administrators are now able to access survey results from Viva Glint and Viva Pulse directly on their Microsoft Copilot Dashboard. They will be able to start new surveys and view survey results directly from the dashboard, as long as they have a premium Microsoft Viva Suite, workplace analytics and feedback license or Viva Glint license.
Improvements in Graph-Grounded Chat
Copilot for Microsoft 365 Graph-grounded chat is a feature designed that allows users to access information from Microsoft Graph in their work data in order to help them perform tasks more efficiently. In Outlook, the new update will expand coverage of a user’s mailbox, so it will be able to go into folders and subfolders, as well as archived emails and prioritize as needed. In Microsoft Teams, users will now be able to ground conversations in group chats so that they can more easily find relevant information. Additionally, the update includes better compatibility with large files when writing prompts, an increased character limit, and the ability to reference specific files in prompts.
New Prompt Collections in Copilot Lab
Users will now have access to an extended prompt collection tailored for sales, finance and the energy sector, in Copilot Lab. This update aims to help users create prompts that are specific to their industry, and Microsoft plans to continue adding new collections specific to other industries in the future.
