Crestron Pyng Makes European Debut at ISE 2015

ise_pyng_pr_main.jpg_The Crestron Pyng™ hub enables complete set up and control of Crestron home automation in just a few steps right from the iPad®. Technology integrators can rapidly create lifestyle scenes for each room, schedule events, and much more without ever opening a laptop. It also empowers homeowners to confidently make changes to their scenes, settings, and even system schedules right from the app. The European launch of Pyng marks the introduction of app setup of Crestron audio systems, streaming music, and TSW touch screens. Visitors to the Crestron stand at ISE 2015 (#2-C-24) will be the first to see these revolutionary new features in a live, hands-on demonstration. The new version of the app will be available on the App StoreSM in March.

“The amazing new Pyng hub transforms how integrators deploy Crestron technology,” said Evan Ackmann, Technology Manager at Crestron. “Pyng makes the easy stuff, such as lights, thermostats, and audio distribution actually easy. And because it’s a Crestron solution, anything a homeowner wants is always possible.”

Simply add a Pyng Hub to any Crestron system to speed up configuration and empower homeowners to personalize their settings at any time. The hub connects Crestron devices with the iPad app, runs scenes and events even without the presence of an iPad, and continuously backs up all home settings to the cloud – so making changes is easy and secure. Adding a new iPhone® or iPad is effortless. Simply open the app while connected to the home Wi-Fi® network and the controls appear instantly in the many popular languages supported.

Unlike home automation apps that control one device, or offer limited, “DIY-level” performance, Pyng controls the same award-winning Crestron professional products found in the world’s most prestigious homes. Plus, the entire Crestron product line can be easily integrated with a Pyng system, including DigitalMedia™ 4K distribution with custom AV control. Because it directly communicates with any Crestron 3-Series Control System®, a Pyng hub speeds up commissioning of any project and gives the homeowner the flexibility to make changes to scenes and schedules later.

“I was able to pair and test over 50 Crestron devices in my home in about an hour,” said Jean Laurent, President of Blue Vision Home, LLC. “That includes programming all the keypads, creating multiple scenes, and scheduling events. My experience with Pyng has been excellent.”

The new version of the Pyng app makes it easy to set up audio distribution to every room of the house. Homeowners can enjoy popular streaming services, including Spotify®, Deezer, PANDORA®, Tunein, Rhapsody® and Slacker Radio. In addition, they can listen to AM/FM radio, over 15,000 free online radio stations, and play all of their iTunes® music via AirPlay or USB. And pump in your surround sound down-mix or your computer by utilizing the new “uncontrolled sources” feature. Integrators also have unparalleled flexibility to offer music in every room of the house. With amplifiers built to handle anything from a few rooms to up to 72 independent zones at 140 Watts per channel, Pyng stands ready to deliver Hi-Fi in every room of even the largest estate.

The Pyng app now runs directly on TSW-552/752/1052 touch screens as soon as they are connected to the network, eliminating the need for a laptop to setup user interfaces. When custom interfaces are preferred, Crestron Smart Graphics™ enables integrators to quickly add Pyng controls into designs for touch screens, Android devices, iPhone, and iPad while maintaining the theme of the rest of their project.

With Pyng, Crestron also puts the unlimited power of the cloud to work for dealers. Crestron systems set up with Pyng integrate seamlessly with the myCrestron cloud, providing dealers with a powerful way to optimize team resources, strengthen customer relationships and provide meaningful data about the use of the home. The new MyCrestron Residential Monitoring Service enables central monitoring and management of Crestron systems through Pyng, allowing dealers to identify and resolve potential issues faster and keep customers happier than ever.
