Atomos at Cine Gear Expo 2013

atomos-logo-blackMelbourne, Australia – 29th May, 2013: Atomos, the creator of the award-winning camera mounted recorders Ninja-2 and Samurai, and the pocket-sized Connect converters, will be demonstrating its full range of recorders and converters on booth S318 at Cine Gear Expo 2013, 31st May – 1st June 2013, The Studios at Paramount Hollywood, CA.

Visitors to Cine Gear Expo in Los Angeles this month will be able to see and touch the very first production units of the Samurai Blade – the field recorder/monitor combo that caused such a stir when it was announced at this year’s NAB.

‘The Blade’ – as it’s already becoming affectionately known – features a stunning 1280 x 720 IPS ‘SuperAtom’ touchscreen and is the first truly professional monitor that records to offer full waveform functionality, including vectorscope and RGB/luma parade displays.

“This new screen is truly spectacular,” said Jeromy Young, CEO and Founder of Atomos, “and it enables us to offer a comprehensive toolset that any test engineer would be proud of.”

“With the Blade, we have raised the bar yet again in the affordable field recorder segment. We’re the first to combine true, professional monitor functionality with recording and deck playout, all in a space-saving, camera-mountable unit,” added Young.

Atomos has now shipped a staggering 10,000 field recorders worldwide and the Ninja-2 and Samurai recorders have broken new ground in production by combining recording, monitoring and playback all in one easy to operate, portable device. Both record pristine, uncompressed images straight from the sensor of DSLRs or video cameras, or even switcher or ISO feeds from live events, directly to inexpensive, removable 2.5″ HDDs or SSDs, in a ready-to-edit format: Apple ProRes or Avid DNxHD. Atomos recorders speed up any production workflow, improve recorded image quality and replace multiple devices for a fraction of their combined cost.
