Wolf Cinema Announces Multiple New Home Theater Projectors at 2014 CES
BERKELEY, CA – Wolf Cinema – the manufacturer of high-performance projectors for uncompromising home theater experiences – announces today the successful release of three new DLP® based front projectors, plus key upgrades to two current editions, all showcased at their Venetian Hotel suite 30-102 during the upcoming Consumer Electronics [CES] 2014 show in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Now shipping is the company’s most affordable 2D/3D projection ensemble to date, the model SDC-6, plus the ultra-bright SDC-20 projector/processor combo – both designed for higher ambient light room conditions. Also announced is the all-new SDC-25 LED-based home theater projection system, using three long-life RGB emitters in lieu of the more traditional lamp-based illumination technologies. All three new models are available immediately. In addition, advanced 4K feature upgrades have been incorporated in two of the company’s highly acclaimed three-chip models – the SDC-12, aka “GrayWolf 4K” and the acclaimed SDC-15, aka the “Cub”.
“It’s an extremely exciting time for the company as we launch three all-new home theater solutions concurrently here during CES,” said Jim McGall, Director of Sales. “These new systems continue the six-year heritage of our company’s home theater excellence – delivering truly cinematic, film-like images from a wide variety of standard definition, HD and Ultra HD 4K sources.”
The SDC-6 is a compact yet powerful chassis: at 3500 ANSI performance, it can fill very large home theater screens with ultra-sharp images, while boasting deep black levels, superior color accuracy and advanced integration capabilities. The SDC-6 system is complemented by the rack-mountable ProScaler™ MK III outboard video processor, featuring multi-axis CMS calibration capabilities to make every video source look its best. The new SDC-20 2D/3D projector and outboard ProScaler™ MK II combo increases overall light output to 5000 ANSI, with multiple lens options – the perfect solution when firing onto very large screens in traditional theaters or the “next-gen home theater” room – the living room, the great room, den or basement.
The company’s exciting new SDC-25 light engine follows in the footsteps of the company’s successful DCL-200FD LED-emitter based design, extending gamut, peak white and black level performances while adding true stereoscopic [3D] imaging for the home cinema enthusiast. This projector is mated with the company’s latest ProScaler™ MK V, designed in conjunction with industry guru Jim Peterson. Among numerous advancements, the ProScaler™ MK V also incorporates the exciting Darbee™ Video Presence [DVP™] technologies for enhanced depth, sharpness and imaging reality.
Continued McGall, “And if that’s not enough, we’ve added new features to our most popular D-ILA® projectors, the models SDC-12 and SDC-15. Starting this year, these two engines now accept and display images from native 4K sources [at Ultra HD 3840 x 2160 resolution], and boast significantly improved black level performance, expanded system calibration memories, advanced iris packages and more. I know our dealers and partners everywhere will appreciate the continued evolution of our existing solutions, plus the expansion of our lineup into new price points and with exciting new imaging technologies.”
Wolf Cinema’s home theater projection systems accommodate a wide variety of sources and screens sizes, and are fully compatible with all leading home automation and control platforms. Included in all models is our unique VariScope™ or E-VariScope™ technologies for 2:35:1 CinemaScope® widescreen viewing, without the unwanted top/bottom “black bars” and without an external anamorphic lens. Optional projector mounting kits, 3D accessories, outboard processors and external anamorphic lens assemblies are also available.
