When Devonshires Solicitors relocated its Leeds office from Whitehall Road to the new Aire Park development, the firm sought to create a modern workspace aligned with its London headquarters while preparing for future growth. The move allowed the firm to nearly double its desk count, reduce reliance on hot-desking and establish a consistent experience across locations.

To achieve this, Devonshires turned to Universal AV, working alongside Bluebottle (design consultant for the London office) and Design Tonic (fit-out contractor). The goal was to replicate the London office’s AV environment — built around Yealink videoconferencing — while introducing improvements such as GoBright room booking for visibility and scheduling.

Challenge

The largest technical hurdle was a divisible meeting room with complex acoustics and a flexible layout. The space needed to function reliably both as a single large room and as smaller, separated rooms.

Solution

Universal AV consulted closely with Devonshires and project partners to design a system that prioritized ease of use and reliability. Multiple design options were reviewed before final implementation. The result was a Yealink-based AV system supported by GoBright scheduling, designed to deliver seamless hybrid collaboration.

Results

The final installation provided Devonshires with a user-friendly AV environment consistent with its London office, while adding flexibility in Leeds. The divisible meeting room now operates reliably in any configuration. Despite some delays related to building connectivity, Universal AV worked with the fit-out team to maintain project timelines.

Each meeting space was named after Yorkshire seaside towns, adding local character to the new workplace.
