The Z-Wave Alliance has announced that Silicon Labs and Trident IoT have received the organization’s newly established Z-Wave Protocol Certification. Both companies are current silicon providers supporting the Z-Wave ecosystem.

The certification is intended to ensure that products developed on these platforms meet the Alliance’s standards for interoperability, security and long-term support across the global Z-Wave ecosystem.

According to the Z-Wave Alliance, the protocol certification reinforces the organization’s goals around interoperability, backward compatibility and robust developer support for Z-Wave-enabled products.

Trident IoT, founded by longtime professionals in the IoT space, was established to provide silicon, certification and design support for Z-Wave developers.

Silicon Labs, which offers low-power wireless solutions, now enables its customers to develop and certify Z-Wave products using its EFR32ZG23, EFR32ZG28 and ZGM230S platforms, along with its most recent Z-Wave software release (v7.23.1).
