PPDS announced the installation of 110 Philips MediaSuite TVs aboard the Grand Pioneers I and II—Vietnam’s first luxury yacht hotels located in Halong Bay. Operated by Grand Pioneers and owned by Viet Thuan Group, the twin seven-deck superyachts were designed to redefine onboard hospitality with a focus on high-end entertainment and comfort.

Working with IT and AV integrator LOGICO, PPDS supplied Philips MediaSuite TVs ranging from 50 to 55 inches for all guest cabins. The displays are connected to a local media server, allowing passengers to access terrestrial channels, on-demand content, and streaming services with minimal latency. Each TV includes integrated Google Cast, enabling guests to stream directly from personal devices without additional hardware.

“Since the introduction of Philips MediaSuite, we’ve helped to transform in-room entertainment experiences in thousands of guestrooms around the world,” said Julian Lim, sales vice president for APA at PPDS. “… As demonstrated by this incredible project, this now includes hotels at sea.”

Philips MediaSuite provides a personalized viewing experience with access to a wide range of content, including terrestrial programming, on-demand movies and streaming apps such as Netflix. Guests can also enjoy content related to Halong Bay’s cinematic history — featured in films such as “Kong: Skull Island” and “The Living Daylights’ — while sailing through the same scenery.

Lim added that the installation marks a “landmark project” for PPDS. “We’re thrilled that guests staying on board the Grand Pioneers I and II can enjoy a TV experience unmatched by any other cruise,” he said.

The project reflects a growing trend among luxury hospitality operators to invest in connected display solutions that bridge the gap between home and hotel entertainment, extending those experiences to unique environments like superyachts.
