Grass Valley has introduced the LDX 180, an oversampled large imager camera built for live production workflows. Featuring a new in-house developed Xenios S35 global shutter CMOS imager, the LDX 180 delivers cinematic depth of field with the speed and precision required for live broadcast environments.

Built on the LDX 100 Series platform, the LDX 180 integrates seamlessly with other LDX Series cameras, ensuring consistent colorimetry, shared transmission systems, and a unified visual language across the production. Creative Grading support enables real-time adjustments with intuitive graphical controls, giving operators immediate feedback for precise visual tuning.

Designed for sports, concerts, and other live events, the LDX 180 empowers productions to combine shallow depth-of-field cinematic shots with wide 2/3” tactical perspectives, all within one cohesive camera suite. The camera supports both SDI and SMPTE ST 2110 workflows and is compatible with Grass Valley’s XCU and NativeIP systems, simplifying setup and minimizing integration complexity.

Ideal for hybrid productions, such as live sports or concerts, the LDX 180 complements other LDX models (110, 135, 150) by capturing close-ups and emotional moments with a cinematic touch. In scripted environments like drama productions, multiple LDX 180 units provide filmic depth while maintaining the agility of live workflows.
