Neat Launches Neat Open to Transform BYOD Meeting Spaces
Neat has introduced Neat Open, a new mode designed to make bring-your-own-device (BYOD) meeting spaces more flexible, consistent and manageable on Neat devices. The company announced that Neat Open will be generally available in spring 2026.
The solution combines BYOD with access to Neat’s App Hub and AI-powered features, all managed through Neat Pulse. The goal is to help organizations get more out of BYOD rooms, whether during video calls or in local collaboration sessions.
“Until now BYOD has provided a limited, single-user experience and a lack of IT monitoring capabilities,” said Tormod Ree, Chief Product and Engineering Officer at Neat. “Neat Open redefines BYOD spaces to not only provide cross-platform capabilities but to also create a space that is fully productive outside of a BYOD call so the room always provides value. Neat Open turns every space into a fluid collaboration hub, offering a future-ready experience that adapts to how teams work, and provides IT with the security, visibility, and control to scale with confidence.”
Through Neat Open, users can connect via USB-C to instantly access Neat’s microphones, cameras and speakers. Browser pairing allows for simple room controls and AI-powered notes directly from a laptop. Even when not in a call, participants can wirelessly share content, capture ideas with AI notes and run apps from the Neat App Hub, which includes more than 40 business and video tools.
The AI features automatically capture key points from meetings, allowing teams to revisit and share ideas later. Notes and shared content can be distributed via links, making both video calls and local meetings more productive.
Neat App Hub extends the utility of meeting spaces by allowing apps such as project management and training platforms to run directly on the device. This enables teams to use rooms for more than video calls, supporting daily workflows and collaboration.
Neat Open is managed through Neat Pulse, giving IT administrators greater visibility into deployment, monitoring and room usage. The company says the system ensures security, consistency and scalability across BYOD spaces.
By leveraging Neat’s premium audio and video hardware with AI and app integration, Neat Open aims to turn traditional BYOD rooms into collaboration hubs adaptable to how teams work.
