Planar has introduced the Komodo Series, a new line of ultra-fine pixel pitch Chip-on-Board (COB) MicroLED video wall displays designed for indoor applications that require high visual performance and reliability.

Available in 0.7, 0.9 and 1.2 millimeter pixel pitches, the Planar Komodo Series offers professional-grade color reproduction with DCI-p3 color gamut and brightness up to 1,000 nits. The displays are suited for environments such as corporate meeting rooms, video production facilities, control rooms and private cinemas.

The Komodo Series is powered by Megapixel’s HELIOS LED Processing Platform, supporting 8K input, modular configurations and high-bandwidth video standards. The platform includes SMPTE ST2110 capability for professional media over IP networks and features an upgradable design to support evolving standards.

Planar designed the Komodo Series to support common resolutions and formats, including 16:9 and 21:9. Configurations can scale from Full HD and 4K to 8K and ultra-wide 5K, making the displays adaptable to conferencing, hybrid collaboration and cinematic applications.

The series incorporates COB advancements such as high pixel density, deeper blacks and alternating LED orientation for improved viewing angles and color uniformity. The design also emphasizes durability and energy efficiency, aided by an LED manufacturing process that matches uniform components to ensure image consistency.

“With more COB LED displays entering the market, we wanted to provide a solution that enhances both performance and efficiency,” said Robert Detwiler, senior director of product management at Planar.
