McIntosh Labs Details the New MX200 A/V Processor

McIntosh Laboratory announced the MX200 A/V Processor, an 11.2-channel signal processor programmed to output from 5.1 to 7.2.4 surround sound speaker arrangements. The company says the product supports immersive audio formats such as Dolby Atmos and DTS:X.

Connectivity:

  • Four HDMI inputs and one HDMI output support 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz video and are compatible with HDCP 2.3; High Dynamic Range (HDR) formats Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and HLG; 4:4:4 color spacing; Rec. 2020; and 3D video pass-through
  • The HDMI output features enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC) functionality to unleash the full potential of high-resolution audio formats with clarity and fidelity
  • Digital audio inputs include two coax and two optical
  • Analog audio inputs include a Moving Magnet phono input to connect a turntable, along with a pair of balanced and unbalanced auxiliary inputs to connect other audio devices
  • To connect to home theater amplifier(s), the MX200 has 11 discrete balanced outputs and two discrete unbalanced subwoofer outputs

McIntosh says the MX200’s design features an aluminum and glass front panel and is integrated with rotary control knobs housed in a 2U rack-mountable enclosure. It’s Control4 certified and works with Crestron Home Certification.

The MX200 will be available in August 2024 through authorized McIntosh dealers with an MSRP of $6,000 USD / $8,400 CAD / €8,290 (including VAT) / £7,995 (including VAT).
