Magewell Debuts SDI to USB-C Ingest Adapter That Supports Up to 12Gbps
Magewell has introduced the USB Capture SDI 4K Pro, a device that allows PCs to capture SDI signals up to 4K resolution at 60fps via a standard USB 3.2 connection. The USB Capture SDI 4K Pro is the latest addition to Magewell’s line of USB Capture products.
The adapter supports SDI input resolutions up to 4096×2160—including 3840×2160 Ultra HD—at 60fps with 4:2:2 chroma fidelity over a USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 interface. It delivers high-quality video capture with minimal CPU usage and requires no external power source.
In addition to 4K, the device accepts various video formats up to 12Gbps or frame rates up to 240fps. It can capture two channels of embedded audio or analog audio via a 3.5mm line-in interface. Embedded audio can also be extracted and output through the 3.5mm line-out. Built on FPGA architecture, the device operates independently of the host PC’s CPU but requires a 20 Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 connection for full performance. Full specifications are available here.
The USB Capture SDI 4K Pro offers driver-free installation and automatic input signal format detection for true plug-and-play functionality, with support for Windows, macOS, Linux, and ChromeOS.
