K-array Adds NDI Support to Kommander Amplifiers With Free Software Update
K-array has added AV-over-IP functionality to its full line of Kommander amplifiers through a new firmware update that enables native NDI support — no external gateways, licenses or hardware required.
NDI is a low-latency, IP-based protocol capable of transmitting synchronized audio, video and metadata over standard networks. While commonly used in video broadcast and live production, K-array’s implementation marks a significant step in expanding NDI into the audio domain.
The software update, powered by K-array’s Linux-based Oskar OS, enables bidirectional AV-over-IP workflows directly from Kommander amplifiers. Thousands of units already in the field can become NDI-capable at no additional cost, providing customers with a future-ready upgrade path and enhanced AV flexibility.
