HARMAN Luxury Audio Group has announced the JBL Synthesis SDP-80 home cinema surround processor. Building on the foundation of the SDP-75, the new SDP-80 adds HDMI 2.1 connectivity, offering 8 HDMI 2.1 inputs and 2 outputs. It supports 48Gbps bandwidth, enabling 8K resolution at 60 frames per second and 4K at 120 frames per second with HDR. The processor also features advanced video pass-through, including HDR10, Dolby Vision, and HDCP 2.3 support.

The SDP-80 delivers 36 channels of processing for immersive formats such as Dolby Atmos, DTS:X Pro, and Auro-3D. It includes Trinnov Optimizer EQ room correction tuned for the HARMAN Target Curve, ensuring precise calibration with JBL Synthesis loudspeakers. As an evolution of the SDP-75 platform, the SDP-80 features upgraded audio DACs, a new motherboard, and a redesigned power supply for faster switching and enhanced audio performance.

Designed for seamless integration and control, the processor includes balanced XLR multichannel outputs, AES3 digital connectivity, and Roon Ready high-resolution music streaming. The SDP-80 also supports network-based control with available modules for AMX, Crestron, and Savant.
