Chyron Releases PRIME 5.1 With SRT Streaming Protocol Support
Chyron has introduced PRIME 5.1, the latest version of its software engine for live production graphics. At the core of the update is support for the Secure Reliable Transport (SRT) streaming protocol, enabling reliable, low-latency input and output for streaming productions featuring rich PRIME graphics.
SRT is a video transport protocol gaining widespread adoption in broadcast for its flexibility and resilience. Codec-agnostic by design, SRT ensures professional video quality by mitigating packet loss, jitter, and sync issues — even over unstable networks.
In addition to SRT support, PRIME 5.1 introduces numerous enhancements based on feedback from Chyron’s global community of designers and playout operators. Whether building control panels, designing data-driven scenes, or integrating media files, users will find significant time savings in taking a graphic from concept to live broadcast.
