FOR-A Debuts MixBoard Software-Based Switcher for Live Events and Broadcast Applications
FOR-A has introduced MixBoard, powered by ClassX, a software-based video switcher designed to streamline live event and broadcast production. MixBoard allows users to create complex compositions with unlimited layers through an intuitive graphical user interface (GUI). The solution supports a variety of production workflows, from traditional broadcast to live streaming.
MixBoard is available in two versions: a basic model supporting 8 inputs and 2 outputs, and an advanced model with 16 inputs and 4 independent outputs. These independent outputs provide flexibility for program, preview, or custom feeds, accommodating diverse production needs. Users can mix and match input types, including SDI, NDI, media files, live streams, and other innovative formats. Auto-sensing features detect video source frame rate, resolution, and audio tracks for quick setup.
The system offers DVE capabilities for advanced transitions and effects, while customizable shaders allow for unique visual treatments and color correction. A built-in multiview composition tool lets operators monitor multiple sources simultaneously with custom layouts.
The integrated SoundFlex audio mixer supports up to eight audio input tracks, which can be independently mapped and mixed across four L+R mixed main tracks. Each of MixBoard’s four output channels can be paired with one or more of these audio mixes. An optional SoundFlex Controller window is available for real-time audio mixing during live productions.
