DSS Europe 2025 Expands to Three Days, Adds New Focus on AI and Managed Signage
Digital Signage Summit (DSS) Europe will return to Hilton Munich Airport from May 21–23, expanding to three days for the first time and bringing a sharpened focus on structural industry shifts like AI and managed services.
In a recent announcement, DSS Europe co-host and invidis Managing Director Florian Rotberg previewed the event, calling it “purpose-built for strategic exchange.” He noted that while many industry events focus on “product launches and visual spectacle,” DSS Europe offers “deep industry insight, personal connection, and meaningful conversation.”
Organized by invidis and ISE, the summit will feature three core keynotes — each anchoring a day of programming around a central theme: cybersecurity, managed signage, and artificial intelligence.
Day 1 will introduce the new Digital Signage Tech Forum, with a keynote on “the increasing role of software and, as a result, cybersecurity.” Day 2 will provide an “in-depth overview of the global digital signage market,” with special focus on the 2025 theme of managed signage. The final day will examine “the intersection of AI and digital signage — what’s coming next, and how businesses can start preparing now.”
Rotberg explained that managed signage is “a natural evolution of how organisations are thinking about digital infrastructure,” adding that it involves “applying the managed services model — so familiar in IT — to the world of digital signage.” According to the announcement, this approach includes installation, remote management, content scheduling, troubleshooting, and even financing and leasing. For companies scaling across multiple locations, it “reduces friction,” “creates predictability,” and “shifts digital signage from a CAPEX-heavy burden to a streamlined, operational solution.”
On the AI front, DSS Europe will spotlight use cases involving personalized content, predictive maintenance, and smart scheduling. But it will also address more complex questions: “What does data privacy look like in a world of AI-enhanced signage? How do we ensure transparency? What are the boundaries of automation in public spaces?”
Beyond its primary themes, the event will explore advancements in display tech, system architecture, software integrations, and UX/UI design. Sessions will also cover data analytics and vertical-specific trends in sectors like retail, transportation, education, and smart cities.
This year’s summit will include “keynotes, panels, deep dives, and informal meetups,” all aimed at supporting different learning styles and encouraging engagement. Attendees are encouraged to “arrive with a plan but stay open to discovery.” The official app — launching in late April — will allow participants to build personalized agendas, browse attendee profiles, schedule meetings, and receive real-time updates.
Described as a “high-energy and intimate” event, DSS Europe 2025 will include more than 40 sessions, over 100 speakers, product demonstrations, and thought leadership platforms. The invidis Strategy Awards will also be presented, and the invidis Yearbook 2025 will be launched during the event.
