Denon Introduces Two New S-Series AVR Receivers With Updated HDMI and Surround Sound Formats

Denon S Series AV Receivers AVR S760H and AVR S660HDenon introduced two new S-Series AV Receivers (AVRs), the AVR-S760H and the AVR-S660H. Each of the new S-Series AVRs are designed with three 8K HDMI inputs.

The Denon AVR-S760H features include: 

  • 7.2 channel AVR home entertainment hub, rated 75W per channel (8 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz, THD: 0.08%, 2ch driven)
  • Immersive 3D surround formats
  • Advanced 4K and 8K HDMI video section
  • Built-in HEOS multi-room music streaming technology
  • Leverages latest surround sound formats including Dolby Atmos, Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization Technology, DTS:X and DTS Virtual:X

The Denon AVR-S660H features include: 

  •  5.2 channel AVR that delivers five channels of 75W per channel amplifications (8 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz, THD: 0.08%, 2ch. driven)
  • Features Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio decoding for high-resolution and lossless soundtrack playback
  • Advanced HDMI specifications such as 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz pass-through capabilities on its three HDMI inputs
  • Offers up to 40Gbps, Dolby Vision, HDR10, HDR10+, Dynamic HDR and HLG
  • 8K upscaling and HDCP 2.3 support on all HDMI inputs (6 in/1 out)
  • Built-in HEOS multi-room music streaming technology

Both the Denon AVR-S760H and AVR-S660H offer the following features:

  • Three 8K HDMI inputs supporting 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz video pass-through up to 40Gbps
  • Connected via eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel) to deliver uncompressed and object-based audio from the TV to the receiver via a single HDMI cable
  • All HDMI inputs (6 in/1 out) offer 4:4:4 Pure Color subsampling, HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG), Dynamic HDR and BT.2020 pass-through support
  • 8K upscaling on all inputs
  • HDCP 2.3
  • Compatible with Apple AirPlay 2 for iPhone users
  • A front-panel USB port offers audio playback of other high-resolution audio formats (WAV, FLAC, ALAC and DSD 2.8/5.6 MHz files) from a variety of players
  • Wireless connectivity to streaming music services like Spotify, Pandora, Tidal and more accessed via Bluetooth or HEOS built-in technology

The AVR-S660H and AVR-S760H are available for $449 and $549, respectively.
