Christie Appoints Stage Audio Works as Authorised Service Centre for South Africa

christie-logo2Johannesburg, SA – (17th July 2013) – Christie® a global leader in the manufacture of visual solutions, today named Stage Audio Works, a leading distributor to the event technology, houses of worship and commercial sectors, as its Authorised Service Centre for South Africa.

Through this appointment, Stage Audio Works will provide the following technical support services to Christie’s customers in South Africa:

  • Technical telephone support
  • Service and repair Christie products under warranty
  • A local inventory of parts and consumables for Christie products

This arrangement will help to support the fast growth of Christie’s business in South Africa since the opening of its first Southern hemisphere branch office in Johannesburg this time last year.

Dale Miller, Vice President EMEA for Christie explains, “Our business in South Africa and Sub Saharan Africa has grown quickly since investment in our Johannesburg branch office. Now the appointment of Stage Audio Works to the role of Authorised Service Centre allows us to maintain the high standards our customers have come to expect of Christie Technical Support services, while ensuring our own Technical Support Engineers can continue their efforts to support further new business development and training in the region.”

To meet the 24/7 demands of the event staging industry and those of Christie’s partners and customers, Stage Audio Works has made a significant investment in a large inventory of Christie lamps, filters and essential spares and earlier this year further invested in a dedicated resource centre and workshop.

Gustav Barnard, Technical and Education Manager, Stage Audio Works, said, “Stage Audio Works started working with Christie in 2009. Since then we have invested heavily in training and support.  Late in 2010 we put our service team through Christie’s advanced service training to become Christie’s first Certified Partner in South Africa, training we invested in again in 2011.  We continue to expand our support team and can guarantee Christie’s and our own customers in South Africa the highest levels of customer satisfaction.”
