Bond Home, the New Jersey-based tech brand known for its Bond Bridge RF-to-WiFi control solutions that bring app-based, voice-activated and home automation system control to RF remote-operated motorized appliances like window shades, film screens, ceiling fans, and more, has much in-store for Expo attendees (booth 29087).

Bond Bridge Pro

Featured will be the Bond Bridge Pro ($379 MSRP). A 2021 CEPro Magazine IoT/Connected Product award winner — and 2022 CEDIA Expo Best New Hardware Product Award Finalist — this solution commands the appliance via its device hub and Bond Home App (smartphones and tablets). The App adds scheduling/programming plus voice activation via Josh.ai, Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, and SmartThings Apps.

Bond Bridge also easily integrates with Control4, Crestron, Elan, RTI, Homebridge and Hubitat control systems. No installation or wiring is required, and a single Bond Bridge Pro can control fifty connected appliances in a 3,500 square foot home.

Sidekick Shade and Scene Battery-Powered Keypads

Bond will tap the event to unveil its new Sidekick Keypads. The Sidekick Shade Keypad is a wireless 5-channel universal remote that provides direct individual and group control to motorized shades/awnings with no advance planning or wiring required. It is compatible with most motorized window shade and awnings including Rollease, Somfy, Dooya, Nice and AMP.

When used with the Bond Bridge Pro, the Bond Home App (and home control system if integrated) depict the correct open/closed state of the shade as if it were a 2-way smart shade.

As told by Bond Home CEO Zohar Shinar this fail-safe feature is appreciated by homeowners and home tech pros alike. “No other shade remotes offer such advanced functionality. This makes Sidekick the only SKU installers need for direct wireless shade control,” he said.

Also debuted will be a scene-control optimized version, the Sidekick Scene Keypad. In addition to controlling shades, this fully programmable wireless keypad triggers any automation, including multiple devices with a single command.

Pre-program scenes based on mood or time of day. This through shades, lighting, entertainment, HVAC, and more. Actions can be triggered based on tap, double tap, and holding down any of the keypad’s 8 buttons. For scene applications requiring fewer buttons, soon 6- and 3-button keysets will be available.

Both Sidekicks may be flush mounted on drywall or optionally mounted over an existing electrical box. Included is a white decora faceplate, and a replaceable coin-cell battery with up to 10-year life. Custom button engraving is available, arranged at time of purchase.
