BenQ Becomes the Fastest Growing Display Brand in North America

benq-logoCOSTA MESA, Calif. — March 13, 2014 — BenQ America Corp., an internationally renowned provider of visual display solutions and the world’s No. 1 DLP® projector manufacturer, today announced that the company has become the fastest growing display brand in North America for both its projector and monitor categories, according to recent market research studies. In addition, BenQ’s award-winning W1070, the world’s first Full-HD 1080p projector for under $1,000, was the top-selling home entertainment projector in the U.S. retail channel in 2013, according to PMA’s Retail Projector Tracking Service.

To become the fastest growing mainstream projector brand in North America, BenQ grew unit sales more than 40 percent in 2013, and clearly outperformed the overall projector market1. Now among the industry’s top brands, an increasing number of consumers, schools, and businesses across the U.S. and Canada are turning to the company’s Colorific™ projectors to deliver accurate, crisp, and long-lasting color to classrooms, boardrooms, and home theater settings.

Even more impressive was BenQ’s growth of more than 50 percent in the LED monitor category from 2012 to 2013. The company’s award-winning collection of RevolutionEyes™ mainstream, professional, and gaming monitors allows users, including business and creative professionals as well as hobbyists, to experience the forefront of LED technology for incredible on-screen precision, blazing-fast response times, and enhanced visual comfort.

“2013 was a standout year for BenQ,” said Bob Wudeck, Associate Vice President, Strategy and Business Development at BenQ America Corp. “Our market breakthroughs in home theater projectors such as the W1070 and new product categories like the RL2455HM professional console gaming monitor enabled our customers to grow much faster than the market and generate significant incremental impact to their bottom lines. We are looking forward to expanding our assortment of Colorific projectors and RevolutionEyes monitors to set the trend for new market segments in 2014.”

BenQ’s price-defying W1070 Colorific projector was the top-selling home entertainment projector in the U.S. retail channel in 2013, according to PMA’s Retail Projector Tracking Service, and was the No.1 model in December 2013, achieving 19.8 percent of unit market share among consumer mainstream models2. The W1070 delivers unparalleled performance by giving consumers access to advanced features such as Full-HD 1080p 3D projection utilizing the high-end DLP® Dark Chip 3 (DC3) — typically reserved for higher-priced models. To lower total cost of ownership, BenQ’s SmartEco™ energy-saving technology provides extended lamp life on the company’s projector lines, resulting in up to 10,000 hours of lamp power without any compromise in projection quality.

For monitors across all product lines, BenQ’s RevolutionEyes technology delivers exceptional visual performance while reducing eye fatigue for maximum comfort during normal users’ daily and extended periods of monitor usage. Advanced features such as ZeroFlicker™ eliminates traditional LED flicker issues, while Low Blue Light technology removes up to 70 percent of blue spectrum light to protect vision during prolonged usage periods. The end result is striking visual clarity, seamless motion fluidity, and enhanced viewing comfort for any application. BenQ’s highly acclaimed gaming monitors are also at the forefront of innovation. With user-specific features such as Black eQualizer, which allows players to adjust brightness without over-exposing white levels in order to reveal critical combat details within darkened areas, BenQ delivers the ultimate gaming experience for pro gamers and gaming enthusiasts alike.
