AV Power Up! – Episode 8: And the Award Goes To…

Power-Up-rAVe-Category2Awards. You’ve got the Oscars, the Emmys, the Grammys (need we go on?), which are given to those nominees who are considered to be accomplished and even among the best in the field in which they perform. On this particular show, we acknowledge those within the AV industry, the InfoComm winners for 2015, nominated by their peers and selected by the InfoComm Awards Committee. Here is the list of this year’s winners (two of which appear on the show):

  • Adele De Berri Pioneers of AV Award – Brian Critchley
  • CTS Holder of the Year Award – Byron Tarry
  • Educator of the Year Award – Paul Zeilie
  • Fred Dixon Service Award in Education – Alan Brawn
  • Volunteer of the Year – Ron Camden
  • Women in AV Award – Wendy Cox

And the two:

  • Women in AV Award – Heather Callaway
  • Young AV Professionals Award – Jeremy Caldera

Join host Christa (@AVChrista) Bender, Corey (@Cbmoss) Moss, Chuck (@madsoundguy) Espinoza, Hope (@BeerAnd Pie) Roth, Johnny (@JMOTA3) Mota and Rich (@RichardPrevete) Prevete as they welcome their two guests and maybe some of the others will appear on upcoming shows… call the producer!

Christa, Corey and The Power Crew talk to their guests about the awards, what they do in business as well as industry technologies, certifications and InfoComm 2015. Christa Breaks the News this time as Stacy took the day off (not sure if she’s getting paid for this one), highlighting the new Innovations Showcase Pavilion at the show. We hear that attendees can visit these exhibitors and vote on the most innovative product where the winning company will receive $10,000 and a voter can win a prize. Wait — $10,000? Is it too late to get in??

Johnny brings some stuff and while he may be living dangerously with this one, we told him go ahead — we’ve got his back. Chuck Powers Up about the AV community and how it’s all about the people and relationships within the industry, and be careful — Johnny is watching. Rich of course earns his keep by delivering on the Tier PM Hot Jobs and we reveal some news toward the end about more excitement at the show (the Power Crew is taking a road trip!).

Congratulations to all of the award winners and while we have two on this show, we do hope to bring in more on upcoming shows — right Hope?

So put away the remote, there’s nothing on TV more important than listening in on this one…

Power Up!
