Welcome to the third in the series of pre-InfoComm AV Power Up! shows — yet another extended version! We’ve recently received word that the heads of the industry have placed a call into rAVe’s executive offices to finally put a halt to the usage of certain overused and played out terms on this show that no one wants to hear anymore. We talked with the producer and he said that while he’d consider removing these worn down, run over terms from the show, he said if he can’t use them he won’t be able to write another blog ever again. So… forget it.
Join the Power Crew — host Christa (@AVChrista) Bender, Corey (@Cbmoss) Moss, Chuck (@madsoundguy) Espinoza, Hope (@BeerAndPie) Roth, Johnny (@JMOTA3) Mota, Rich (@RichardPrevete) Prevete, Jeremy (@jeremy_caldera) Caldera and special guest co-host Gina (@GinaSans) Sansivero as they welcome guests:
- Paul Zielie from AMX by Harman and InfoComm Educator of the Year award winner
- Kyle Davis (@skyledavisbooks) from AMX by Harman
- Michael Shinn (@axpmike) from IMS Technology
Christa and The Crew shake things up (there’s another term that’s gotta go!) as they talk to Paul, Kyle and Michael about that convergence thing and all those overused terms in the industry that need to go — now. Paul proves on this show why he was selected for the InfoComm Educator of the Year Award as he provides the formula that finally defines convergence — and it’s bigger than E=MC2. Game, set and match!
We talk about certain subjects including UCC (Right, Chuck?) and just what it all means. Collaboration? Sure we tried it, even threw in a little Unified Communications — and what did we come up with? Let’s just say that if we packaged and sold it, it would be the most transitional, transformative and adoptable solution on the market. Innovations Showcase here we come!
As always Chuck does the Power Up (he’s angry and he’s not going to take it anymore!), Corey tells everyone to go and Converge This, Gina gives us some of the real InfoComm low-down for tech managers, Johnny gets himself in more Stuff and Things hot water and Rich scores big with all the details of the Career-Fest (umm, Fair) at the show. In fact, Rich tells us about taking that Career Fair selfie — but why don’t we just make that a Career Fair #AVSelfie?
Due to certain difficulties — Christa went robo, Chuck went mute and other minor technical snags ensued. Let’s just blame it on UCC and convergence — there, we said it.
So while you’re packing up to go to InfoComm or Disney World, check this one out, and we look forward to seeing you down in sunny Orlando.
