ATEN International has launched its PSD PP v4.0 Universal Secure KVM Switch Series, expanding its portfolio of secure connectivity solutions for high-security environments including government, military, healthcare and financial institutions.

The new series is certified to the National Information Assurance Partnership’s Protection Profile for Peripheral Sharing Device, Version 4.0, a U.S. government security standard that governs how peripherals can be shared safely between systems operating at different security levels. The switches allow users to securely manage multiple computers while sharing a single keyboard, mouse, monitor, speaker and, in some models, a common access card reader.

According to ATEN, the PSD PP v4.0 Universal Secure KVM Switch Series uses hardware-based isolation, unidirectional data transmission, peripheral and audio filtering and an always-on tamper-proof design to prevent unauthorized data flow between classified and unclassified systems.

In addition to meeting security requirements, the series supports video resolutions up to 5K through a DisplayPort and HDMI combo video connection. Models are available in single- and dual-display configurations and in both two-port and four-port versions, with CAC and non-CAC options to accommodate different deployment needs.

Compared with previous generations, the new switches feature a more compact metal enclosure intended to simplify installation in space-constrained environments. The series also introduces customizable port identification, allowing administrators to assign distinct LED colors and port name labels to individual systems to help users quickly identify security classifications.

“ATEN PSD PP v4.0 Universal Secure KVM Switch Series sets a new benchmark in secure connectivity by combining uncompromising data protection with superior 5K visual performance,” said Nicholas Lin, senior vice president of ATEN International. “Fully compliant with the NIAP-certified PSD PP v4.0 standard, the series enables organizations handling sensitive or classified information to securely switch between multiple systems while maintaining stringent security assurance, operational efficiency, and exceptional visual clarity.”

Additional features include pushbutton port switching or support for an optional remote port selector, visual indicators showing peripheral filtering and security status, and administrative controls for CAC device filtering and port-based access, depending on the model. ATEN’s Video DynaSync technology is also included to help maintain optimal display resolution when switching between sources.

The ATEN PSD PP v4.0 Universal Secure KVM Switch Series is available in multiple configurations supporting DisplayPort or HDMI interfaces and resolutions up to 5120 by 2880.
