DisplayNote Technologies has introduced Launcher v2, the next generation of its meeting room software, developed to simplify collaboration and improve management across shared workspaces. Designed for IT teams, AV professionals and end users, Launcher v2 builds on the secure foundation of the original Launcher while adding new tools for control, customization and communication.

The updated platform features a redesigned interface, a centralized management portal, customizable home screens, and integrated digital signage. The additions aim to make meeting spaces more consistent and easier to manage at scale.

“For years, Launcher quietly did its job — it opened up meeting rooms, kept them secure, and helped people start meetings fast,” said Luke McSorley, head of product at DisplayNote. “But as workplaces evolved, people started asking for more. They weren’t replacing Launcher — they were stretching it. That told us everything: it wasn’t time to retire Launcher, it was time to rethink it.”

Among its new features, Launcher v2 includes a Central Management Portal that allows IT teams to configure, update and oversee multiple meeting rooms remotely. The updated interface provides a cleaner, faster user experience, while the customizable home screen enables teams to tailor layouts, apps and shortcuts to specific environments. A new Screen Saver Messaging option lets organizations use idle screens for internal communications or integrate with existing digital signage platforms.

Launcher retains the multi-platform video conferencing support that made it widely adopted. Users can start Teams, Zoom, Meet and Webex sessions from a unified interface. Security remains central to the software, with Kiosk Mode and Automatic Cleanup ensuring each session is secure and private. Calendar integration continues to allow one-touch meeting launches.

DisplayNote said the upgrade benefits both IT administrators and AV integrators. For IT, the centralized management system reduces service tickets and simplifies updates. For integrators and resellers, the hardware-agnostic design and flexible deployment options create opportunities for scalable installations across customer sites.

“We’re giving partners the opportunity to upsell and cross-sell the solutions needed for any room,” said Ryan McElvaney, head of channel and partner alliances at DisplayNote. “Clients can use all-in-one systems or complex integrated AV and still provide a consistent user experience.”

Launcher v2 is available now as a free upgrade for existing customers. Current configurations, integrations and workflows will migrate automatically, minimizing disruption during deployment.
