Behind the Booth at InfoComm 2025: An Interview With Magewell’s Nick Ma
THIS IS A PROMOTED POST
Behind the Booth at InfoComm 2025 gives you a front-row seat to the people and products shaping the show floor. In this sponsored series, we sit down with top executives from InfoComm exhibitors to find out what they’re showcasing, which trends they’re watching and how they’re pushing the ProAV industry forward. This interview features Nick Ma from Magewell.
Q: Why is Magewell exhibiting at InfoComm 2025, and what are you most excited to showcase this year?
A: Magewell is an active participant at major global industry events and a long-term member of AVIXA. Pro AV customers and channel partners around the world can see Magewell at InfoComm, InfoComm Beijing, InfoComm Asia, ISE and Integrate to experience our latest innovations first-hand.
We see InfoComm as the perfect place to build awareness for our newest video I/O, production and IP workflow solutions that are designed to seamlessly bridge signals, software, streams and screens. We’re bringing multiple brand-new product announcements to the show. One that we’re particularly excited about is our Pro Convert IP to USB hardware, which lets users bring an NDI, NDI HX or streaming source into video conferencing and other non NDI software over a standard USB interface.
Q: What trends do you expect to see dominating the show floor, and how is your company positioned to lead or respond to them?
A: It’s no secret that IP-based streaming and production workflows have become pervasive in the Pro AV market and are benefiting a wide range of organizations and AV professionals. Magewell’s proven expertise in IP-based broadcast production workflows combines with our extensive experience in the Pro AV market to make us perfectly positioned for these aspects of broadcast AV convergence.
While AV-over-IP and software-based solutions have now become mainstream in the Pro AV market, there continue to be solution gaps and barriers that have prevented many customers from maximizing their potential. One of our ongoing goals is continuing to develop practical solutions that break down these barriers.

Combining the flexible decoding capabilities of the Pro Convert family with the plug-and-play video ingest of Magewell’s renowned USB Capture devices, the new Pro Convert IP to USB hardware lets users bring an NDI, NDI HX or streaming source into videoconferencing and other software over a standard USB interface.
Q: Which new products, solutions or updates are you featuring — and how do they address current needs in the AV industry?
A: I mentioned the InfoComm debut of our Pro Convert IP to USB earlier. While direct support for NDI video connectivity technology in third-party software has grown significantly, popular video conferencing software does not natively support NDI inputs, instead relying on add-ons like NDI Tools. However, stringent IT restrictions in many environments often prohibit the installation of such utilities. Pro Convert IP to USB overcomes this issue and eliminates complexity by converting the NDI source into a USB output that software sees as easily as a webcam.
Last year we unveiled our Modator family, which brings the reliability and low-latency performance of our standalon IP encoders and decoders to a high-density, rackmount form factor to meet the operational, power and space-efficiency needs of large-scale AV-over-IP and streaming deployments. At InfoComm 2025 we’re expanding the Modator family’s capabilities with new modules including the Ultra Encode SDI Plus Module, which supports not only AV-over-IP (NDI HX3) but also streaming formats such as SRT and RTMP.
We’re also expanding our plug-and-play USB Capture family, which is well-known as the easiest and most reliable way to bring HDMI or SDI signals into software-based AV solutions. Two new models will be making their InfoComm debut: the USB Capture HDMI 4K Pro and the USB Capture SDI 4K Pro. They can capture 4K video at 60 frames per second over a 20Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 interface from an HDMI or 12G- SDI input, respectively.
In our production portfolio, attendees will also see the InfoComm debut of the Director One all-in-one production and streaming solution. It combines multi-input switching, graphics, replay, streaming, recording and monitoring in one compact device, and builds on our popular Director Mini solution with a larger and brighter touchscreen, integrated cellular modem and dedicated HDMI output. It’s perfect for organizations adding in- house production capabilities to their environments.
Last but not least, we’re seeing demand for ultra-low latency in AV solutions for some specific use cases. We’ll be offering a sneak preview of our upcoming Xmit product line, which pushes point-to-point latency down to 17ms via Magewell’s own codec.
Q: How is your company supporting integrators and end users in navigating today’s biggest AV challenges — not just at InfoComm, but year-round?
A: Magewell has a very mature and strong global sales and service network, with representatives or channel partners in more than 50 countries. We work closely with our global channel partners to provide local project consultancy and technical support for both integrators and end users. We have a group of technical experts who are always within reach, and we also offer optional support from our engineering team to tackle customized needs for specific projects.
Q: Why should InfoComm 2025 attendees make a point to stop by your booth?
A: Magewell is proud to be at the forefront of providing easy-to-use streaming, production and IP workflow solutions that make new technologies and trends practical and affordable as the AV, IT and broadcast markets continue to converge. We’re always looking for new ways we can make these capabilities easier, more efficient and more effective, and we’re excited to show the results to InfoComm attendees first-hand.
We’ll be showing or previewing more new products and partnerships at InfoComm 2025, but I can’t talk about those yet. Be sure to visit our booth to find out about them!
