Barix Brings Audio over IP Vision to PIFA in Singapore
Swiss innovator’s first appearance at the AVL event marks beginning of a strategic growth initiative in the increasingly busy Southeast Asia region
ZURICH, SWITZERLAND, September 19, 2024 — Barix is bringing its diverse brand of Audio over IP networking to Pro Integration Future Asia (PIFA) 2024 later this month, representing the first step in a long-term strategy to build its presence in key Asia-Pacific regions. Co-exhibiting with distribution partner Digigram Asia, Barix will highlight select products across several product lines that best represent the needs of regional systems integrators working across key business verticals.
“Barix has long been active across much of the Asia-Pacific region through investments in channel relations that resulted in rewarding partnerships,” said Patrik Di Luca, Director of Channel Sales and Marketing, Barix. “That groundwork has helped Barix build a reputation in the APAC systems integration community as both a problem-solver and an innovator, anchored through a diverse range of affordable Audio over IP products. We have now set our sights on strengthening our presence in the Southeast Asia region where we can serve specific needs across many AV verticals, including the fast-growing retail and hospitality sector.”
That retail and hospitality growth in Thailand, Singapore and Philippines and other countries has compelled strong interest from integrators seeking proven background music solutions — a specialty of Barix for more than 20 years. That demand positions Barix’s RetailPlayer as the main attraction on its PIFA stand, where visitors can evaluate its proven feature set to flexibly manage music and advertising content streamed direct to businesses over the public internet.
RetailPlayer brings an entire ecosystem together to help music service providers and network operators create and manage sonic branding programs for their customers. Much of that work happens in the RetailPlayer Portal where users can build custom playlists, manage playout schedules and monitor performance in the cloud. PITA attendees can also test a QR Code based remote control feature that literally places control into the hands of local staff, allowing a trusted source to adjust volume, change the music selection, and manage other settings to meet the mood of the environment. Network operators can generate and distribute QR Codes to approved users, and generate QR codes on their own devices to remotely access and control volume, channel selection and on-demand audio functions.
Barix will also showcase several recent products from its broad range of Audio over IP encoders, decoders and bi-directional devices used to reliably move audio over local and wide-area networks. That includes the new Barix MultiCoder M400, a low-latency, multi-format solution that can send audio streams to receive points in four different formats. Introduced in 2023, the MultiCoder M400 opens new opportunities to serve audio content to a variety of audiences thanks to the presence of multiple encoding engines under the hood. Businesses can encode audio into OPUS, AAC+, PCM and mp3, and deliver multiple RTP/BRTP streams to receiving devices with no delay.
Barix will highlight its value proposition for the corporate, education and government markets, with an emphasis on its flexible options for paging, intercom and other voice applications over IP networks. That includes a demonstration of how the Barix Paging Gateway M400 seamlessly bridge mobile phones with legacy analog and modern IP paging systems to create a unified communications network inside schools, corporate office facilities and medical centers among other public and private spaces.
The Paging Gateway M400 solution includes a dedicated UI to support paging through a web browser, while the hardware devices route line-level, analog audio through its output to support existing paging and public address systems. The full solution is extensible to Barix’s advanced IC Paging platform to enable enterprise-level paging and intercom over existing IT infrastructure without a server or matrix.
Pro Integration Future Asia 2024 takes place September 27-29 at Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore. Barix exhibits at Stand A05.
