Barix has launched a new audio-over-IP device designed to help integrators upgrade legacy analog intercom and paging systems without replacing existing infrastructure. The Annuncicom AHE-YA404 serves as an analog headend with integrated VoIP SIP support and onboard amplification.

The 1RU unit allows direct connection to speaker, microphone, and call-button panels and enables two-way communication with up to 16 legacy intercom stations using standard SIP phones. Designed for use in emergency help points, security systems, and control rooms, the AHE-YA404 supports room monitoring and HDX-quality audio.

The device is part of Barix’s long-standing Annuncicom product line, which provides two-way voice and audio-over-IP capabilities for commercial and industrial environments. The new model includes modern hardware and software architecture with support for current internet security standards and flexible configuration options.

The AHE-YA404 supports Dante, SIP, InformaCast, and Syn-Apps environments and is compatible with common codecs including PCM, AACplus, MP3, OPUS, G.711, and G.722. It also includes advanced features such as priority-based paging, background audio playback, and scheduled or triggered content delivery.

Barix says the device is intended as an all-in-one option for integrators needing a secure, scalable, and low-disruption upgrade path for analog paging and intercom systems.
