Xyte Joins OpenAV Cloud Initiative to Support Open, Interoperable AV Ecosystems
Xyte, a developer of cloud platforms for device manufacturers and system integrators, has joined OpenAV Cloud as a founding member. The new industry initiative aims to promote interoperability and cloud adoption across the AV market.
OpenAV Cloud brings together AV manufacturers and technology providers to create an open framework for cloud-connected AV systems. The effort focuses on secure data practices, open API development and cross-brand integration, allowing devices and platforms to work together regardless of manufacturer.
“For nearly 30 years, I’ve seen how innovation has fueled the AV industry, but I’ve also seen how proprietary systems have slowed it down,” said Omer Brookstein, CEO and co-founder of Xyte. “Today’s customers demand openness, flexibility, and integration, meaning they are less willing to be locked into proprietary systems. They want platforms to work together, just like Slack integrates with Zoom or Salesforce talks to ServiceNow. That’s the direction we need to go—and OpenAV is the initiative to get us there.”
In addition to Xyte, founding members of OpenAV Cloud include Sony Electronics, Panasonic, Legrand, Shure and BrightSign.
Members are collaborating on best practices for secure data access and cloud interoperability, while contributing to open API development and a shared technical framework for AV integration.
