TrueConf Releases an Open Source Application for Video Enabled Kiosks
Harnessing the power of the open-source developer community, TrueConf has released the TrueConf Kiosk source code. TrueConf aims at making video kiosk software more accessible by providing developers with an open source application for real-time customer service via video conferencing.
Embedded video conferencing systems traditionally require recruiting skilled software engineers, commissioning a custom development, or learning SDK. To make the process easier, TrueConf created a ready-made and easy-to-customize application for video kiosks which resolves many of the typical challenges and can be installed on any Windows-based PC within several minutes.
The application is available on GitHub as an open source project for Visual Studio and Delphi — two most popular development environments. The application interface can be easily customized to match diverse customer needs. The TrueConf Kiosk source code is free to use, modify and distribute. It requires a connection to TrueConf Server as a media server which provides a reliable back-end for embedded solutions.
“We are proud to introduce the world’s first open source application for video kiosks”, said Dmitry Odintsov, TrueConf CBDO. “We provide our customers with a unique opportunity to create their own video conferencing solutions based on a ready to re-use working piece of software instead of reading of SDK manuals. We hope that our offering will profoundly transform the market approach and make video conferencing SDK more accessible”.
