October 15, the Development Center of Polymedia introduced an updated version of Flipbox’s software under a number 1.2.0.

The function of displaying laptop screen has become much more convenient and easier, compatibility with third-party software is improved. Another way to show the laptop screen has been also added: a specially designed application FlipboxAgent finds and offers all Flipbox in the local network without need to enter IP addresses. This way of showing the screen of laptop through the app is fast, easy and consistent. Option of laptop screen displaying through the site, however, is still available as an alternative. In this case, both options are now fully compatible with Windows8.

To prevent malfunction due to power outage or improper shutdown work session (for example, premature power off), the developers have provided a special backup recovery system, which increased the stability and reliability of Flipbox. Additional mechanism to protect the hard drive is also installed. Now Flipbox provides the ability to support additional equipment. In this release is already possible to use the microphone Jabra Speak, which will improve the sound quality for video-conferencing. Control Logitech Wireless Presenter became possible. It is necessary for the remote turn the pages of any document, adjust the volume of voice calls, turn on/off the microphone.

Despite the closeness of the device software, Polymedia is working to make possible to use software applications which are familiar to corporate users – this will make the device even more functional. Expected, that the ability to install Skype and other applications will be available in a subsequent update.

The Development Center also reported on the appearance of a software application for Flipbox – BoardMaps, the system automates the process of preparation, implementation and follow-up of execution of the tasks of the meeting, thus ensuring the efficiency of joint decision-making.
